Jurgen Klopp praises Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet
Mignolet kept a clean sheet as Liverpool narrowly beat West Brom 1-0 at The Hawthorns yesterday.
Roberto Firmino, back in the starting line-up after being rested against Stoke last week, headed Liverpool to victory with a goal just before the half-time break.
But it was Mignolet who earned Klopp's praise, with the Reds boss paying tribute to the way his keeper dealt with West Brom's set-pieces.
Simon Mignolet kept West Brom out at The Hawthorns
Klopp said of Mignolet’s performance: “He was really good, really lively, front-footed, all that stuff. He was very important again.
“At the end it doesn’t look that spectacular but he was really present around the set-pieces, he had three or four or five fists [away].”
Mignolet, 29, has struggled to maintain form this season and has often been dropped in place of summer signing Loris Karius.
And the Belgium international, who has now kept five clean sheets in the league this term, was delighted to prove Liverpool's critics wrong.

"That has to be the benchmark now.
"You know they're going to throw everything at you in the closing minutes but we dealt with it well. We scored one goal but that was enough for today."
