Those are the thoughts of Liverpool legend John Barnes.

Liverpool have endured a dramatic slump under Jurgen Klopp, having failed to win a Premier League game in 2017.

Although Barnes accepts the Reds need fresh faces, he doesn’t think things are as disastrous as they stand.

“Unfortunately we didn't get anyone in January,” Barnes told the London Evening Standard.

Signings would have helped but it's not all doom and gloom

John Barnes

“Signings would have helped but it's not all doom and gloom.

"We haven't got a huge squad so with a 14-15 man squad they will be tired.

"Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City all have bigger squads. City can take out [Sergio] Aguero and bring in [Gabriel] Jesus.”

Liverpool are 13 points behind table-toppers Chelsea.
