Speculation has ramped up over Hazard's future and reports emerged over the weekend that Real have already sorted out a house and school for his wife and three children.

"The manager's word doesn't always count for much at Madrid, but Zidane made such a good start to his managerial career that he will be listened to," Jenson told BBC Radio 5 live.

"So it could be for political reasons as much as football reasons.

"Perez will want to have something under his arm, and a new player is usually what he presents to the supporters.

"As I say, it's something to dazzle the fans with, and make sure he stays in power."
