Schweinsteiger was the surprise inclusion in Manchester United's starting XI in the 4-0 win over Wigan today and he marked the occasion with a well-taken goal.
It was the 32-year-old's first start in a United shirt in over a year after seemingly being left in the lurch by Jose Mourinho.
But the United boss has now performed a U-turn on his decision to exile Schweinsteiger from his first team plans.

United are the only English side competing on all four fronts meaning they will face several weeks of playing twice in seven days.
And Mourinho conceded that Schweinsteiger is likely to feature more often in the second half of the season.
"Basti may be a surprise for some as we made that decision not to have him in the squad for a couple of months," said Mourinho.
