It seems to be a big IF at this stage though, with the Red Devils currently sixth in the table, 14 points behind leaders Chelsea.

But nonetheless Jose Mourinho has promised a hardcore group of United fans that he will celebrate with them if they win the title.

A dedicated group of supporters travel to every away game on what is dubbed the "Monkey Bus," and Mourinho will indulge in their celebrations if the unlikely happens.

The Sun claim Mourinho told fanzine United We Stand: “Let’s do that after we are crowned champions in an away game.

“Then I’ll come back with you rather than the team.”

And while Monkey Bus users will be excited by Mourinho's vow, it seems they may have to wait until next season for it to happen.

Which Premier League side has collected the most yellow cards this season?

Mourinho's side look unlikely to challenge Chelsea for the title this term, but do have the chance to win trophies in the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the Europa League.

Manchester United continue their European campaign with the visit of Saint Etienne on Thursday 16, while their bid to retain the FA Cup resumes with a visit to Blackburn in the fifth round three days later.

The Red Devils will attempt to win their first major trophy under Mourinho when they take on Southampton in the EFL Cup final on February 26 at Wembley.
