Jose Mourinho has not received an offer for Ashley Young from China

The Daily Mirror reported yesterday that Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng are interested in signing Manchester United outcast Ashley Young.

The England international reportedly received a £16million offer over three years to become the latest star to head to the Far East – but Mourinho insists there has been no official approach.

The Red Devils manager said: “I don’t know because the first time I heard about it was when I was informed that it was in the media.

“I don’t give credit to that, unless Ashley comes and tells me something about it, which he didn’t.”

Mourinho was also full of praise for United full-back Antonio Valencia, who recently extended his contract at Old Trafford until the end of next season.

The Portuguese believes United have the best right-back in the world and that his extension is fully deserved.

He said on the Ecuadorian: "I don’t see it as a reward, he is simply the best right-back you can have, there is no better right-back in football.

"It isn’t a reward for him, it is a privilege for us to be able to keep such a good player and man."

And regarding potential departures, Mourinho insisted he would not entertain any offers for United goalkeeper David De Gea or his back-up Sergio Romero.

Real Madrid are said to be still interested in De Gea, while Romero was linked with a move to Boca Juniors earlier this week.

The Red Devils manager said: "What I can say is that I expect both to stay, because I think both are equally important.

"I cannot have a better goalkeeper than David, I cannot have a better replacement than Sergio. I cannot have a better professional than Sergio.

"I want them both to stay. So, if there is something true in relation to Boca, I will try to stop it because I want Sergio to stay."
