Joel Matip is set to return to the Liverpool starting XI
The Reds trail 1-0 thanks to Nathan Redmond but will over to overturn the deficit at Anfield.
Matip, who returned to the Liverpool side late on in the defeat to Swansea, played an hour for the Under-23s on Sunday.
He is now expected to start for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Joel Matip has been missing due to the confusion over his Africa Cup of Nations selection
Joel Matip was a late substitute against Swansea
Liverpool are in poor form and have won just once in six games since the turn of the year.
They have dropped further behind run-away leaders Chelsea and will see the EFL Cup as their best hope to win a trophy this season.
Matip, 25, has been out of action since the middle of December due to injury and confusion over his selection for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Klopp has been frustrated with the situation but it finally appears to be resolved.

Liverpool fans react as Joel Matip is benched against Swansea
Former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol blamed Saturday’s defeat on Matip’s absence.
"There was one thing that I couldn't understand that happened in the game," Nicol told ESPNFC.
"Liverpool's best defender, Matip, was sat on the bench. Why? And when he came on, he played centre forward. He's sitting on the bench.
"For two weeks we've been moaning about 'Oh he can't play because he's supposed to play at the Africa Cup of Nations' and all of a sudden he's not starting the guy. Why is he on the bench? He's the best defender.”
Provisional Liverpool squad: Karius, Clyne, Lovren, Matip, Milner, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Firmino, Coutinho, Origi, Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Klavan, Lucas, Moreno, Can, Stewart, Woodburn, Sturridge, Ojo.
