"The hospital physio thought I would be in a wheelchair for at least 6 weeks before I could even attempt this."
Ellington had been in warm-weather training camp ahead of the 2017 season along with Levine and other members of the Team GB sprint squad.
James Ellington was part of the European Championship winning 4x100m relay team
The veteran runner is a specialist over 100m and 200m but is best known for putting his sponsorship rights on eBay after losing his funding in 2011.
He went on to win European gold in the 4x100m relay in 2014 and 2016 and represented Team GB at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
However, the 31-year-old confirmed today that he will miss the whole of the upcoming season in recovery from his crash, which he admits could have killed him.
"I will be back 2018," Ellington added.
