The 24-year-old’s last competitive game was for England in Germany last March but he came through 90 minutes for Stoke’s Under-23s at Brighton on Monday following an ankle injury.
And now he has told Stoke manager Mark Hughes he is available to replace Lee Grant against Hull on Saturday.

“I feel ready and playing for the U3s was the last box which needed ticking in terms of my rehab,” said Butland. “The next decision is now for the manager.
“Hopefully I’ve given him a headache towards the weekend having come through the Brighton game. I will get ready for the weekend and we will see.
