The Louis Vuitton store’s shop front was completely destroyed after a Subaru car was repeatedly reversed into the window display.
Police have revealed the break in occurred at around 9pm last night in Briggate, Leeds, just yards away from luxury department store Harvey Nichols.
Although officers rushed to the scene, the crooks were still able to make off with thousands of pounds worth of goods.
The Leeds shop was totally ransacked in the theft
Police have cordoned off the area surrounding the designer store
The criminals were forced to leave the car behind – with pictures taken at the scene revealing extensive damage to the rear of the silver car.
Shocking photographs also show glass and rubble scattered over the pedestrianised street, with the inside of the designer shop having been ransacked.
Police have now cordoned off the area surrounding the designer store, and investigations continue.
The Suburo car was left abandoned
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "A number of men had been seen to repeatedly reverse a Subaru car into the shop to ram their way in before stealing items on display.
"They then left the scene in a second vehicle, leaving the damaged Subaru behind and the whole front of the shop destroyed.
