The depraved jihadi, nicknamed “Abu Sayyaf”, was reportedly killed by unknown individuals west of the ancient city of Nineveh.
A security source told Iraqi News: “An unknown armed group killed on Sunday the Islamic State’s most famous decapitator, the so-nicknamed ‘Abu Sayyaf’.
“The armed group ambushed him at al-Dawasa region, in the western side of the city, and stabbed him several times.”
The source confirmed Sayyaf died immediately.
Sayyaf reportedly led the barbaric practice in the group’s Nineveh faction.
The executioner was reportedly stabbed to death in Mosul.
The source added: “He had beheaded 100 violators of the group’s rule, and had used to dump the heads at a well-known hole in al-Khasafa region.”
Numerous ISIS chiefs have reportedly been kidnapped or assassinated since the Iraqi government launched its campaign in October to retake the city of Mosul, the death cult’s biggest stronghold in Iraq.
US-backed military operations managed to drive the extremist group out of the city’s eastern sector on January 24, killing at least 3,300 members.
The extremist group are notorious for using barbaric methods to execute its victims.
Coalition forces are fighting to win Mosul back from ISIS fighters.
Coalition forces supported by popular militias are now preparing to invade the west of the city.
The news comes after US President Donald Trump signed an executive order for military officials to draw up a new strategy to defeat the murderous group.
According to the order, joint chiefs of staff will have 30 days to devise a new plan of action to tackle the militant jihadists – marking a clear departure from tactics deployed by his predecessor, Barack Obama.
