Dixon and Jay Howard collided on lap 55 of the Indy 500 after the latter collided with the wall and then spiralled out of control.
Dixon could do little to avoid him and went straight into Howard as Dixon's car was sent flying into the air.
But the New Zealander insists he was ok and was thankful for the help he received.
"I'm glad everybody was ok. It was definitely a wild ride for sure and big thanks to everybody [who helped] and the safety standards we have right now.
