Party leaders are embarking on the final days of election campaigning as Britain prepares to go to the polls on Thursday.

How do I vote in the General Election?
In order to vote in a General Election you must be on the electoral register.
It is now too late to register for a vote, but if you have, here’s how to cast your ballot on Thursday.
There are three ways to vote in a general election: In person, by post or by proxy.
Most people choose to vote in person at a polling station.
Labour have closed down the Tories in the polls
If you successfully registered to vote, you should have received a polling card in the post.

Take this with you to your nearest polling station – the address will be on the card – and a teller will instruct you on how to cast your vote.
If you lose your polling card, don’t worry, you are still eligible to vote. Just take a form of identification with you and provide a teller with your registered address.

To vote by post you are required to register separately and must have applied by May 23.
If you want someone to vote for you with a proxy vote, you should have applied by May 31.
An emergency proxy vote is available if you end up in hospital, for example, and must be applied for before 5:00pm on the day of the General Election.
