Romelu Lukaku has angered Everton fans
Lukaku yesterday took a major step closer to a £100million return to Chelsea after admitting he had agreed terms with a Premier League club – then followed several Stamford Bridge stars on Twitter.
While on international duty, Lukaku said: “For the time being, England is the best for me.
“My business attorney is now talking to a club. I know where I want to go. I just stay patient. I know that appointments have been made. I’m just waiting for a call.”
Lukaku made it clear his spell at Everton was coming to a close, saying: “Staying at Everton is not really an option, I think.”
That’s left Toffees supporters fuming – and they’ve tweeted him a barrage of abuse directly to his verified @RomeluLukaku9 account.
One wrote: “got an agreement with another club with 2 years left on his contract, one cheeky **** treating our club like s**t on his shoe.”
A fellow fan said: “I have no problem in him leaving but he shows no respect to the club that's made him who he is, so why should we? F**k him.”
Another livid supporter posted: “f**k em off now. N respect for the club since day 1.”
It seemed a common theme with another Toffees diehard fuming: “Not seen @RomeluLukaku9 running his big mouth off again have you? Thinks he is so much bigger than @Everton.”
The striker has scored 53 Premier League goals in three seasons at Goodison Park but has made little secret of his desire to return to Chelsea.

But the record didn’t cut the mustard with one, who wrote: “For me, yes he scored lots of goals, but he never really felt like one of us. That's why I'm not too bothered he's going.”
Another surmised: “isn't it bizarre you want to leave when away on international duty? Grass isn't always greener Rom. Good luck….laters!”
Lukaku left Chelsea for Everton in 2014 after three seasons of frustration at Stamford Bridge, kept out of the team by the likes of Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka.
But Chelsea have been interested in luring the powerful striker back for more than a year.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte wants to add another striker to his title winning squad, with Diego Costa’s future uncertain and Lukaku has been at the top of his list for six months.
