Gianfranco Zola has resigned as Birmingham manager
Zola had overseen a run of just two wins in 24 games.
The former Chelsea playmaker joined Birmingham City midway through the season with a remit of getting their promotion campaign back on track.
But today’s 2-0 loss at Burton Albion sees the Blues drop to within three points of the relegation zone.

A Birmingham statement read: “The futures of Gianfranco’s backroom team – Pierluigi Casiraghi, Gabriele Cioffi, Kevin Hitchcock, Andrea Caronti and Sebastiano Porcu – will be decided in due course.
“Birmingham City would like to place on record their thanks to Gianfranco for his efforts.
“The Club will seek to appoint a new manager within the next few days.
“No further comment will be made at this time.

Zola won just two games in charge of Birmingham
Zola replaced Gary Rowett back in December as Birmingham lost ground on the race for the Championship playoffs.
But the ex-Watford and West Ham boss couldn’t get City back on track.
Birmingham were seventh in the Championship when Zola took over but he leaves them 20th in the division.
The Italian took 11 games to earn his first win at St Andrews — a 1-0 result over Fulham.
Birmingham beat local rivals Wolves 2-1 at Molineux in February but have picked up just four point sin nine games since.
