Gary Neville would have Diego Costa over Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Ibrahimovic, 35, has enjoyed a stunning debut campaign in England, scoring 28 goals across five competitions for Manchester United.
While Costa, 28, has scored just 18 goals this season but has played just domestic games after Chelsea failed to qualify for Europe.
But former Red Devils defender Neville admits he would have the Chelsea striker over the experienced Ibrahimovic.
"You’d much rather have Costa at this stage in terms of the mobility but I think Zlatan will go down in his career as the overall better player," he told Sky Sports.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has carried Manchester United with his 28 goals this season
Ibrahimovic signed a one-year contract when he arrived at United last season and has the option of extending his stay for another 12 months.
And Neville believes Jose Mourinho must do all he can to keep the former Sweden captain at Old Trafford as United have heavily relied on his goals.
He added: "I just think at this stage in his career there’s talk of him now, whether he’s going to stay at United next season.
"United are going to have to deal with that situation, immediately. To replace his goals next season has got to be an immediate concern for Jose Mourinho.

"They aren’t scoring enough as it is, if you take his goals out if he was to leave it would be a really appalling situation.
"There are suggestions in the last few weeks that he’s a little bit more tired, less mobile, he’s maybe slowing the team down a little bit. I wouldn’t say he is because without him this season, I think they’ve lacked personality.
"He dragged them through the [EFL] Cup final and if United’s season is going to be a successful one, it’ll be if they can get into the top four or win the Europa League and he’ll be the cause of that.
"Great player, he’s done great things this season but you would have Costa – he’s been unbelievable this season."
