Garry Monk is in talks with Middlesbrough
Garry Monk walked away from Leeds United last week after failing to agree terms on a new contract.
The former Swansea boss revealed he was unable to "move forward" with the club following the takeover by new owner Andrea Radrizzani.
However, his spell away from management is not set to last long with reports suggesting he is in talks with Middlesbrough.
The Daily Mirror claim Monk is Boro's favourite choice to succeed interim boss Steve Agnew and will be interviewed by the club this week.
Middlesbrough sacked manager Aitor Karanka in March
Middlesbrough have been without a full-time manager since Aitor Karanka was sacked by the club in March.
They were subsequently relegated from the Premier League and are now in the process of rebuilding for the Championship.
The Mirror claim Garry Monk and former Leicester boss Nigel Pearson are both on the club's radar and will be interviewed this week.
However, the former Leeds man is their No 1 target and they will reportedly battle Crystal Palace and Sunderland for his signature.
