Bale is being linked with a move to Manchester United after a difficult campaign with Real Madrid.
The Wales international endured a tough La Liga season, managing seven goals from just 17 appearances as calf and ankle injuries derailed his campaign.
The 27-year-old is facing a fight to be fit in time for their Champions League showdown with Juventus in Cardiff on Saturday, where Bale could make history by becoming the sixth player to win a European trophy in his hometown.
United have tried to sign him twice in the past – under both Sir Alex Ferguson and David Moyes – and reports have suggested Jose Mourinho is determined to succeed where his predecessors failed.

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is being heavily linked with a move to Manchester United
Real Madrid could sign Kylian Mbappe if Gareth Bale joins Manchester United
And, talking on Spanish TV show El Chiringuito, journalist Eduardo Inda has claimed Real could take a gamble on Monaco star Kylian Mbappe if Bale quits the Bernabeu.
"What happens on Saturday [in the Champions League final] can be definitive for his future," he said.
"The departure of Bale could finance the arrival of Mbappe, for which Monaco ask for 130 million."
Mbappe has broken onto the scene in devastating fashion with Monaco, scoring 26 goals and registering eight assists from 45 games.

Mbappe's exploits for Monaco mean he is wanted by Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid
However, Real are not his only admirers, with United, Manchester City and Barcelona also in the running for his signature.
Inda also said he expects Bale to start against Juventus, though could be taken off at half-time.
"I think he's going to play the starting lineup and he's going to play half a game," he added.
"That is if he is medically well."
