Lena Headey revealed that she lost acting roles for not flirting with casting directors
The 43-year old Game of Thrones star opened up about the darker side of securing a job in the acting industry, recalling a shocking revelation made to her by a casting director years ago.
"When I was in my twenties, and doing a lot of audition tapes in the States," Lena told The Edit. "A casting director told me: 'The men take these tapes home and watch them and say, Who would you f**k?'"
The actress, who plays Cersei Lannister in the hit HBO fantasy series, went on to say that she has never flirted in order to land a job, saying: "I've never played the game of going in [to auditions] and flirting. I've never done it."

Asked by her co-star Maisie Williams, 20, if she believed that stance had prevented her from landing parts in the past, Lena replied: "Yes, and I'm very happy I didn't."
As the hotly-anticipated first episode of Game of Thrones season seven draws closer, the star also teased that one character could be in for a tough time from Cersei.
Hinting at a "loathsome" storyline ahead, Lena revealed that the evil queen will be a "horrible cow" to one poor rival in particular.
She previously hinted at the demise of her character Cersei Lannister
Her co-star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau also dropped a huge spoiler earlier this week
The spoiler comes after she said that there is "not a chance in hell" that her character will remain on the show, appearing to drop a huge bombshell about the demise of the queen.
Earlier this week, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays her brother Jaime Lannister, also teased a major spoiler for the upcoming season when he teased that there would be a big death set on a beach.
Previously released official season seven photos have shown Daenerys Targaryen (played by Emilia Clarke) touching down on a beach, and leaked filming images have also shown Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Jon Snow (Kit Harrington, Greyworm (Jacob Anderson) and Missandei (Nathalie emanuel) standing on sand near the sea.
Game of Thrones returns to HBO on July 16 and will be simulcast in the UK at 2am on Sky Atlantic.
