The angry pensioner destroyed the document as a “symbolic protest” against a “borderline fascist”.

During a six-minute rant, the man, named Bill Bailey, lashed out at fellow Americans for voting in the billionaire real estate mogul in November’s election.

The 78-year-old, now living in Colchester, Essex, hoped his actions would resinate with other US citizens to resist against the incoming president.

Expat Bill Bailey ripped up his American passport in rage over Trump's presidency

I’m seriously worried that such a shambles of a man can be elected

Bill Bailey

In the moments leading up to the point he destroys the official document, Mr Bailey describes Mr Trump as an “ignorant, callous whinge bag who is the absolute apotheosis of vulgarity”.

Speaking directly to the camera, Mr Bailey said: “I’m seriously worried that such a shambles of a man can be elected by millions of fellow American voters.

“Though I’m aware he lost the popular vote and only won because of an archaic electoral device. But millions did vote for him, too many!”

The 78-year-old was angry that Donald Trump had been elected

He continued that so many Americans had voted for the Republican, he was “determined” to “step away from the national defamation of Americans”.

The elderly man said although he was “too old and arthritic” to take to the streets, he wanted to destroy his still in-date American passport in resentment against Donald Trump.

He then brandishes the document to the camera and says “watch” as he rips in half.

Mr Bailey then begins to tear page after page from the passport as he discards its remains on to the floor.

After taking few moments to gather his thoughts, he continues: “Make American great again – when was it ever great?

“It’s a misleading appeal. It means make ‘America feared again’. Let the rest of the world witness out decisive brutality against even the slightest challenge by anyone in the world.

“I was born in America by chance. I was given no choice. Americans are not born greater than any other soul on the earth.”

Mr Bailey ranted in the video for over six minutes

A clearly agitated Mr Bailey concludes his video with one final dig at Mr Trump.

“America will never be great country while it elects leaders with less appeal and charm than a dung-crusted pig!”

The pensioner's outrageous protest comes ahead of the inauguration of the 45th president of the United States in Washington DC.

Protesters took to the streets of London against Trump on Friday

As well as protests across America, demonstrators took to the streets of London on Friday morning as a banner reading "Build Bridges Not Wall" was draped across Tower Bridge in a show of defiance.

In total, nine of the capital's crossing were targeted, with some protesters letting off flares in Vauxhall.

The other areas involved are London Bridge, Southward Bridge, Millenium Bridge, Blackfriars, Waterloo, Westminster and Lambeth.
