Murray has struggled with shingles and a dip in form over recent weeks, and kicks off his campaign at Roland-Garros against world No.73 Kuznetsov.
The 30-year-old was runner-up in the competition last year, losing 6-3, 1-6, 2-6, 4-6 to Novak Djokovic in the final.
Serbian Djokovic is one of the favourites to scoop the title in 2017, but faces a tough task with eight-time French Open winner Rafael Nadal also in the hunt for another Grand Slam victory.
