Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are both in action on Day 11 of the French Open
The top four seeds are usually split over two days at Roland Garros in order to maximise ticket sales but stormy conditions yesterday saw both Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal both sent home at 5.30pm and told to come back the next day.
Nadal had dropped just 20 games on his way to the quarter-finals and Pablo Carreno Busta did not trouble him for many more as his fellow Spaniard retired while down a set and a break with a stomach problem.
Djokovic faces Dominic Thiem, the Austrian 23-year-old to whom he has never lost. In fact, the last time they met Thiem won just one game in two sets, exhausted from an epic encounter with Nadal which he won, still the only man this year to have beaten Nadal on clay.
Murray takes on Kei Nishikori for a place in his fourth straight French Open semi-final with the winner of Stan Wawrinka and Marin Cilic who will play at around the same time.
