The 22-year-old Bordeaux playmaker has been preferred to Racing Metro's Maxime Machenaud, who featured in France's three November Tests.
"Serin was very effective off the bench in November after a very good tour of Argentina," said France coach Guy Noves. "It seemed wise to see what he could give in a difficult context from the start of the match."

In the absence of injured Wesley Fofana, the second centre's role alongside Remi Lamerat goes to Gael Fickou, with Mathieu Bastareaud not even making the bench.
Cyril Baille takes over at loose-head prop from Xavier Chiocci with South African-born Scott Spedding returning at full-back, where he will link up with Fiji-born wingers Noa Nakaitaci and Virimi Vakatawa.
