Liverpool were flying high in the table and looked to be well on course to be challenging for the title at the back end of December.
But they are yet to win a league game in 2017, and their 2-0 defeat to Hull on Saturday saw them fall to 13 points behind leaders Chelsea.
And Aldridge, who made 83 league appearances for the Merseyside outfit, says Jurgen Klopp's side need to “man up” and get back to winning ways.
“We’ve got to man up. You don’t become a bad side overnight,” he told the Liverpool Echo.

“Hull to be fair have been playing really well of late so nothing should have been taken for granted but when you’re playing these so-called lesser sides you’ve got to earn your right to play but we look like we haven’t got too many battlers at the moment.
“They look like they’re just willing to roll over and for a manager that’s worrying.
“It’s happening all the time but for me they’ve just got to win ugly.

“We can’t keep a clean sheet but we’ve got to try and instil that because you’re going to struggle to win games when you keep conceding goals.
“They’ve got to roll their sleeves up and they can’t feel sorry for themselves.
“These players are on ridiculous amounts of money and for all the joy they gave us up to Christmas the last month has been unbearable to be a Liverpool fan.”
It doesn’t get any easier for Liverpool with their next fixture against Tottenham at Anfield on Saturday (5.30pm).
