Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, four points above fifth-placed Manchester United.

After a disastrous start to 2017 in the league, Liverpool look to be back on track having picked up wins against Arsenal and Burnley as well as drawing Manchester City last time out.

But with United and Arsenal in hot pursuit of the Reds, Klopp’s side are far from guaranteed Champions League football next term.

However, former Champions League winner with Liverpool Garcia, is confident Klopp is the perfect fit to ensure Europe’s elite competition returns to Anfield.

“I think it’s still there (Champions League qualification for Liverpool),” Garcia told Sky Sports.

“It was the target at the beginning of the season and it’s the one they have to continue working for.

“I think the team is ready for it, it’s true they had a down period during the first part of 2017 but I’m sure of the reaction they’re going to have.

“They [Liverpool] have the perfect manager to do it.

“We know what he is capable of doing with this team and they’ve shown it before during the first part of the league.

“I don’t have a doubt that if they continue working the same way they will be in the top four at the end of the season.”

Liverpool will look to make it four games unbeaten in the league when they host rivals Everton on Saturday (12.30pm).
