Trudeau was in Berlin ahead of a meeting with the German chancellor today, after just securing the CETA trade deal.
Before addressing the world in a press conference where he called Angela Merkel “tremendous”, Mr Trudeau was invited for a impromptu dinner with the Chancellor and foreign policy adviser Christoph Heusgen at the Hotel Regent last night.
The Canadian Prime Minister was then seen embracing Angela Merkel with the pair kissing as they arrived for a show of unity this afternoon.
The liaison came after the Canadian PM told the European Parliament that the EU was a "remarkable achievement", after sealing a blueprint trade deal between his nation and the bloc.
The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) will come into full force in early 2017, when most import duties are to be lifted.
Supporters say CETA will boost trade between Canada and Europe by 20 per cent and annually £10.2bn (€12bn) to the European Union economy and £7.1bn (€8.4bn) to Canada’s economy.

In a very public display of affection on Thursday, Trudeau told his "friends" the "whole world benefitted from a strong EU".
He said: "Over the course of our historic partnership, we have stood side by side on the things that matter, maintaining global security, creating good jobs for our people, through trade and investment.
"And my friends, I am confident we will continue this together in the years to come for the countries we represent and the people we serve.
