At the end of season two, Nick (played by Frank Dillane) led everyone into a trap where they encountered a deadly militia and was taken hostage with Luciana (Danay Garcia).
When the series returns he no longer feels immortal and has no idea how to save his girlfriend, who is barely alive.
Fans of the series will be pleased to see that they still have some fight left in them and in an exclusive first look at episode one, Nick and Luciana can be seen trying to escape the military base where they are being held.
They also appear to have found a friend, who can be seen helping to lower Luciana into an underground tunnel.

His mother Madison (Kim Dickens) is mere miles away from her son but is still unsure about his whereabouts.
Fans of the zombie series last saw her reunite with Travis (Cliff Curtis) while her daughter Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) is fractured following her murder of Andres (Raul Casso).
