Jaynie Renner, 53, was “drowning in debt” despite earning more than £80,000-a-year by appearing on shopping channel QVC.
She was also running her own clothing business selling expensive sarongs, fur hats and scarves at craft fairs and shows.
As debts mounted up, she failed to pay VAT and income tax for six years.
Renner was about to fly to Canada when she was arrested on board a plane at London’s Heathrow Airport, Leeds Crown Court heard.

The presenter has sold her home in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, to pay back the £61,690 she stole from the public purse.
She has also lost her job at QVC and closed down her business.
Renner, appearing under her real first name Sheila, admitted five counts of VAT evasion and one of income tax evasion between 2009 and 2015.
Judge Christopher Batty handed her a 22-month jail sentence suspended for two years.

“You have lost your job, you have lost your business, you don’t have a home,” the judge told her.
“In those exceptional circumstances, I am prepared to suspend the sentence.”
Renner was a favourite among male viewers after videos of her stripping down to her underwear to sell slimming lingerie appeared on Youtube.
She hopes to get a job there working for an animal charity, the court heard
Mark McKone, defending, told the court Renner had been overwhelmed by money problems and was “drowning in debt.”
“She buried her head in the sand and is truly sorry for what she has done,” said Mr McKone.
Renner, who has a previous conviction for false accounting, now plans to emigrate to Canada with her husband after completing her sentence.
She hopes to get a job there working for an animal charity, the court heard.
