Chef Marlon (played by Mark Charnock) was seeking companionship from his recently widowed ex-wife Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) after Carly (Gemma Atkinson) lied to him and spent the day selling clothes with Matt.

Viewers are yet to find out whether she will reciprocate after the scene ended with him leaning in for a kiss.

Spilling all on what’s in store for his lovelorn character Marlon, Mark recently told Express.co.uk that the characters are “just friends”.
He explained: “In the midst of all this, Marlon and Laurel are friends. It's platonic. He loves her and she loves him, but it's totally platonic.
“For all of the circumstances that went around their marriage – the drinking, Donna – they're really close and I think they're each other's go-to people in times of crisis, or they're certainly available for each other.”
Elaborating on the scene, Mark added: “When he's at a really low point and Carly goes off with Matt, he thinks that she's lied to him at this point.

“She tells him one thing, he overhears something and she does another and she does it with Matt. He's insecure about that and Laurel tries to get it out of him. There's a sequence where we see Matt and Carly in the car and them getting closer and you see Marlon and Laurel.”
He added: “He's really desperately sad, because he thinks she's betraying him at this stage. He leans in [with Laurel] and Matt leans in [with Carly] and then the episode ends.”
Showrunner Iain McLeod promised fans he wasn’t lining up any serious romances for Laurel anytime soon.
