Last week saw a lovelorn Marlon (played by Mark Channock) lean in for a kiss with Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy), while his fiancée Carly Hope (Gemma Atkinson) was doing the same with her ex-boyfriend Matt.
On Friday, Carly fled Emmerdale for good and in turn left a tidal wave of devastation in her path as April broke down.
However, her tears of sorrow soon turned to trickles of rage after she learned about Marlon and Laurel’s non-existent kiss – thanks to local gossip, Lydia Hart (Karen Blick).
“Marlon let slip the two of you had a moment,” she told Laurel, which was overheard by Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick).

April blamed Marlon for Carly's exit in Emmerdale
“She has got her dad in the village and there’s little April. She doesn’t say goodbye to her so that will weigh heavily on her,” Gemma explained. “She’ll probably try and have a happy life but there is unfinished business in Emmerdale.”
Gemma continued: “I think she’ll go off but eventually come back, not to cause trouble but maybe to make amends. Hopefully she will find Marlon happy with someone else.
