The first images released by the ITV soap shows Zak (played by Steve Halliwell) struggling as the church service becomes too much for him after the sudden loss of his estranged wife.
He is pictured clutching on to her coffin and then is seen sobbing as he walks away, whilst Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) gives him a stern look in the background.
And things don’t get any easier for Zak as when he attempts to leave, Kerry publicly humiliates him for letting Joanie (Denise Black) down in both life and death.
He was left heartbroken last week when she died after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Lisa Dingle (Jane Cox) went to pick her up and used the opportunity to tell her that she was now back with Zak and he wanted a divorce.
Shocked by the news, Joanie fell back and died without any warning.
Joanie and Zak’s marriage fell apart at Christmas after she released he was still in love with his ex-wife Lisa.
Fans had been rooting for a reunion between the two ever since their shock split in 2015 after 19 years together.
