The 33-year-old actor left the Leeds-based soap in 2016 after 20 years as farm heartthrob Andy.
In an unexpected turn of events Kelvin asked producer Iain if he could return to the village, while the latter was hosting a Question and answer session with fans on Twitter.
Kelvin tweeted: “@Emmerdale can I have my job back? #AskIain.”
The questioned left viewers thrilled at the prospect of Andy back on their screens in time for his brother Robert's (played by Ryan Hawley) upcoming wedding to Aaron (Danny Miller).
