Meanwhile, former Sale wing Tom Arscott has been found guilty of breaking RFU anti-corruption regulations by passing on information to his brother Luke, of Bristol, ahead of last month’s game between the two teams.
Tom Arscott has since been sacked by Sale – who lost the match 24-23 and raised the issue with the authorities– and has been given a written warning by the RFU for ‘inappropriate behaviour’.
An investigation found that brothers had talked about Sale’s likely defensive formations the night before the match.
Tom Arscott, still without a club, said: “I would now like to draw a line under this episode. I look forward to resuming my playing career as soon as possible.”
