The former Labour MP fell foul of a complicated lift that ended badly when Katya somersaulted into his arms and the politician accidentally caught a foot to the face.
The 49-year-old Strictly Come Dancing star, however, smoothed over the hiccup like a true professional.
Despite the boot, Ed didn't seem hurt as he and Katya fell about in fits of laughter after the incident, before pulling themselves together to carry on with the routine.

Ed's iconic Gangnam Style routine, along with his unforgettable performance as The Mask during Strictly's movie week last year, earned him a special place in the hearts of viewers and may even go on to land him a role in a musical.
