On Monday night, a double-decker ploughed into the Albert Square market, leaving Whitney Dean, Martin Fowler and Denise Fox hospitalised after the driver died of a heart attack at the wheel.
However, last night’s nail-biting instalment saw Max Branning appear to hint that he could have been behind the collision during a conversation with an ominous stranger.
After being wrongfully banged up for the murder of Lucy Beale, Max returned to the village as a helping hand for his doting neighbours – until now. It turns out, the former car lot owner has been plotting his revenge all along.
“From what I hear, you’re going big guns,” the mystery figure, played by Simon Williams, known for roles as James Bellamy in Upstairs Downstairs and Justin Elliott in The Archers, told Max.
