Shakil Kazemi (played by Shaheen Jafargholi) was seen getting into a tense tussle with a couple of former pupils after naked images of him went viral.
He was left bloodied and bruised with cuts to his face as he fought off another teenager, who mocked him in the corridor.
However, the scenes on the BBC soap left a number of viewers stunned by how realistic the fight had appeared and led many to discuss it on social media.
One enraged viewer tweeted: "#Eastenders fight scene outside school TOO VIOLENT BY FAR !!! Not happy."(sic)
While another posted on the micro-blogging site: "That was actually a realistic situation in a London school. Roadman dialect from my man too. That fight was not watered down. #EastEnders."
A third commented: "That fight scene looked too real! #eastenders."

However, there was also praise from some quarters for the staging of the fight by programme makers and one person wrote: "I think #eastenders is depressing, but that fight scene was pretty impressive."
"#Eastenders that looked like a good realistic fight! Very well done!" added a second audience member.
This evening's episode saw the teen revenge porn plot that left Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) on the verge of tears while her friend Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper) appeared to show little sympathy for Shakil.
Meanwhile, there were further ructions on Albert Square after it emerged that Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Kim Hubbard (Tameka Empson) were not actually sisters.

The huge revelation on EastEnders came as Denise argued with her mother Emerald Fox (Dona Croll) about having to bring up Kim despite only being a child herself.
It was then than Emerald hit her with the crushing news that she was not actually sisters with Kim.
