Martin (played by James Bye) was presumed dead, but Max Branning (Jake Wood) suggested the able-bodied survivors should club together and lift the vehicle, freeing the former.
Looking bloodied and lifeless, he opened his eyes and called out for Stacey (Lacey Turner), saying: "I love you," before she replied: "No, don't say that!"
