The US President’s son, Eric, 33, confirmed his father is a “big believer” in Ronald Reagan’s philosophy of achieving peace through strength and is “deeply committed” to building the world’s largest ever peacetime army.
Eric said: “If there was anything that Syria did, it was to validate the fact that there is no Russia tie.”

Trump’s administration said the air strikes were a retaliatory measure following the suspected use of chemical weapons by the Assad regime and were targeted at Syrian troops to avoid civilians.
Eric continued: “If they disrespect us and if they cross us, fine. There will be no one harder, he has got more backbone than anybody. We are no worse off than we were before. Maybe we are finding that we can’t be.”

Russian prime minister Dmitry Medvedev has said the air strike came "within an inch" of militarily clashing with their forces.
Iran responded by calling on Syria to “make Americans regret their attack” and it comes after both Russian and Iranian forces warned Trump they would retaliate with military action if the US launched anymore strikes.
