Destiny 2 beta details, PC news and gameplay reveal
It’s been over a week since Bungie had their bid Destiny 2 gameplay reveal but big news is still being released by the studio.
Destiny 2 Game Director, Luke Smith had this to say on the showcase: “Last Thursday was a blur. Amidst the fuzzy lines, a few moments crystallized and burned into memory.
“I’ll remember the tireless effort on the part of the crew who was there all week building out the hangar, Steph the stage manager helping us prep, the team running the teleprompters (which none of us had ever used before), and a ton of other folks who made that event go.
“I’ll remember the conversations with guests sharing their own stories of what Destiny meant to them, their friends, families, and communities. It’s another jolt of energy as we enter the final months of Destiny 2’s development.
“I’ll remember the moment I walked out on stage for the first time for the rest of my life.
“And the text I received from my mother after it was over wondering if she should “get into these Destiny games when I retire.” She’s 61, and I hope to still be making them when she hangs up her scrubs.”
Since then, we’ve learnt more about the Destiny 2 beta and PC version.

The original Destiny 1 beta contained a lot of playable content, launched in July and lasted a good ten days.
And fans of the new Bungie franchise would likely be very pleased if the development team decided to do something similar with Destiny 2.
A new FAQ released by Bungie this week confirms that non-pre ordering customers will get a turn at the new Destiny 2 beta run, although those who are buying early will get first try.
This means there will be a closed beta, followed by an open beta before the full release in September on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
It should also be noted that the Beta will be available on all three platforms, and won’t be just a PS4 and Xbox One affair.
“The full Beta schedule, including early access period and open Beta dates will be announced at a later date,” a message from Bungie explains.
“You will automatically receive beta access on the PlayStation Store or Xbox Store account that you pre-ordered with when the Beta launches.

“Your Beta platform will be selected closer to the Beta launch, so PC players can redeem now using a Bungie.net account linked to a PlayStation or Xbox account. If you don’t have either of those accounts, hold on to your code and we’ll add additional account options for PC players when we get closer to the Beta.”
Destiny 2 fans have been hit with some bad news about the PC release date, which appears to have been delayed beyond September.
Destiny 2 has been given a September 8 release date on PS4 and Xbox One, but not on PC, where no date has been set.
Bungie told PC Gamer that it hasn't "committed to a PC date yet" and that the game would be given more time if necessary.
That's according to Destiny 2 creative director Luke Smith, who told PC Gamer: "Our partnership with Blizzard and being on Battle.net, we want to make sure that this version of the game has the time it needs to bake in the oven so it's a delicious piece of bread when it comes out."
PC pre-order customers will still be given access to the Destiny 2 beta, which is also without a date.
