The Portuguese defender has been in talks with the Championship outfit for several weeks, but finally put pen to paper on a three-and-half year deal with the Royals yesterday.
The 23-year-old signed for Liverpool in 2013 under Brendan Rodgers but made just three appearances.
During that time he went on loan to Granada, Bordeaux and Aston Villa in search of more playing time.

But despite him failing to hit the ground running at Anfield, he is determined to get his career back on track at the Madejski Stadium.
"I've got great respect for Liverpool,” Illori said.
“It didn't work out perfectly for my career. I didn't get the game time I expected but these things happen.

"Even though I didn't play the games I still developed as a player and a person so there are positives to take from these last three-and-a-half years.
"I only left Sporting with the idea I was going to go and play and have a real chance from the get go. Things didn't happen that way and I went out on loan a couple of times and things dragged on.
"But I can't blame anyone else but myself. Obviously I didn't do something right and that's why I have now looked to make this change so I can set things right again."
