In the penultimate episode of series six, his character left the Caribbean to go to London to solve the latest murder on the island.
When in the capital he met with DI Jack Mooney; who is played by Ardal O’Hanlon and will be taking over the lead role in the next series.
Those tuning in to the episode were convinced that Kris was leaving the popular BBC series to take over as the new Doctor Who following Peter Capaldi’s shock exit earlier this week.

“But we had a daughter this time last year, and so bringing her and my son – and he’s about to start school – it all became a bit of a juggling mission, so that was really the reason behind it.
“So this last series I did do on my own, which was quite hard.”
