She wants us to focus on the song and says: “I would like it to stay quite stripped back. There is room for improvement with the production but I’m keen to stay away from a big ending.”
The 25-year-old was speaking to BBC Radio 2’s Graham Norton the morning after winning the Eurovision: You Decide battle to represent the UK at the singing contest.
And for her, the chance to perform on the show was an easy decision to make. “I said I would never do another reality TV singing competition again but then this came around and Eurovision is different.

“It’s something that I’ve watched my whole life and as a singer you very rarely get the opportunity to represent your country. So I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.”
Lucie will be performing a track titled Never Give Up On You written by Emmelie de Forest, who won the contest for Denmark in 2013.
The UK last won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1997 when Katrina & The Waves performed Love Shine A Light.

The big winners of the night were La La Land for the Best Picture award and retro horror series Stranger Things which won Best Episodic Drama.

The sexagenarian is as busy as ever. He has just finished a run of The Man With No Show, where admittedly he “just goes on stage for an hour and sees what happens” as well as presenting BBC’s Room 101 and hosting a regular slot on Absolute Radio on Saturday mornings.
