Elon Musk has launched a new company called Neuralink
The entrepreneur, who is CEO of Tesla and SpaceX will work on developing neural lace technology, which allows humans to communicate with machines using signals from their brains.
The company called Neuralink Corp will create a neural lace, which is is a wireless device to be implanted in the human brain, with the purpose of helping human beings merge with software in order to keep pace with advancements in artificial intelligence.
The South African-born space and business magnate, who also co-founded PayPal, recently spoke abut his plans to work on neural lace technology.

Musk has a keen interest in artificial intelligence
He said: "Over time I think we will probably see a closer merger of biological intelligence and digital intelligence.”
Mr Musk has a keen interest in artificial intelligence, which can be seen as a threat to the survival of the human species.
But the billionaire tycoon believes merging humans with machines is the only way to ensure humans become irrelevant.

He added: "Some high bandwidth interface to the brain will be something that helps achieve a symbiosis between human and machine intelligence and maybe solves the control problem and the usefulness problem."

Mr Musk has not yet made a formal announcement, but Neuralink was registered in California as “medical research” in July and he plans on funding the company by himself, according to the Journal.
Neuralink’s first products could include brain implants to treat disorders including depression and epilepsy.
