Conor McGregor seems keen to take on Floyd Mayweather having obtained a boxing licence in California last year.
But the American boxer, who is 49 fights unbeaten in his career, claims McGregor’s financial demands are far too great given his previous earnings.
The Irishman is also already under contract to UFC, but the promotion’s chief Dana White recently said he would offer each fighter $25million (£20million) to make the bout happen as well as a share of the pay-per-view profits.

When McGregor travels for fights, he always needs to carry a passport for his shoes as certain states restrict certain materials. His favourite pair are made from crocodile skin
The deal would see two stars of their respective sports get in the ring together, with double UFC champion McGregor moving out of his comfort zone of the octagon.
However, McGregor’s head coach John Kavanagh believes the lack of other training required would actually make boxing prep much easier than his usual pre-fight camp.
"Ireland has a great boxing tradition and we have a great relationship with some of the pro boxing gyms in Ireland," Kavanagh told the Daily Star.

"Steve Conlan is a friend of the gym, he's in and out of the gym.
“And his brother, Pascal Conlan, runs a gym close by that Conor sometimes goes to spar in.
“So in a weird way, your getting prepared to fight one of the best boxers there's ever been.

"But in another way, it would actually almost feel like a break for us because we wouldn't have to keep up the other skill sets.
"In mixed martial arts your trying to work on seven or eight different skill sets.
“Whereas in boxing, it's one – it's just boxing.

"It'd almost be like a break to only have to work on one and not work on everything."
Kavanagh himself is a specialist in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, which focuses on grappling and ground fighting.
And while McGregor’s switch to boxing might appear to render the 40-year-old redundant, he believes he can still have an impact on the fight.
"If the deal is right and the two of them come to an agreement and that happens we'll of course plan for that and bring in some of the experts," Kavanagh added.
"But I'll still be playing my little role in the corner."
