Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather are edging closer to an agreement
NSAC fined Conor McGregor as much as £120,000 after he threw a water bottle at Nate Diaz during a press conference last summer.
The pair were promoting their headline rematch at UFC 202 in Las Vegas and reignited their rivalry ahead of the bout in the most dramatic fashion as a fracas broke out before the fighters had even got to the Octagon.
Nevada's sporting authorities took a dim view of the incident, fining McGregor and also ordering him to complete 50 hours of community service.

When McGregor travels for fights, he always needs to carry a passport for his shoes as certain states restrict certain materials. His favourite pair are made from crocodile skin
However, the Irishman refused to pay it immediately and instead appealed the sentence, a move which put a temporary delay on his plans to box Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas.
But the case has now been re-heard and McGregor's punishment has been reduced to £20,000 and 25 hours of community service.
It paves the way for him to apply for a boxing licence with the NSAC which would facilitate him fighting Mayweather this year.

The UFC superstar has previously been granted a boxing licence in California but was told by Mayweather: "I don't fight in California".
However, the American boxer confirmed earlier this month he would come out of retirement to fight McGregor with a date in June initially mooted.

But now the autumn looks a more likely timeframe, even though talks between the two fighters are proving difficult.
"[September] is what I’m thinking," McGregor told the LA Times.
"That’s what the word is. That’s what we’re close to doing.
“I’ve tried to talk to Floyd. I flew to Las Vegas to have talks with Floyd and then he retired. He just doesn’t want to see me.
"He’s petrified. Wouldn’t you be? No one knows what to expect with me, and they shouldn’t."
