Kante’s time in England has subsequently been a huge success, earning him his £30m Chelsea switch, a title with Leicester and he is favourite to be crowned the PFA Player of the Year.
However, staying in Ligue 1 and progressing there was his ideal development plan before heading for the Premier League.
"Among the clubs that most wanted to recruit me were Marseille and Leicester," Kante told French TV station Canal +.
