Chelsea star reveals closest friend at Stamford Bridge: He took his time to help me
GARY CAHILL has named John Terry as his closest friend at Chelsea.
The centre-halves have been defensive partners at Stamford Bridge for years and have plenty of history together.
On the pitch, Terry and Cahill have regularly played alongside one another for Chelsea and England.
The duo could be split up in the summer, though, with 36-year-old Terry yet to be offered a contract extension by Antonio Conte.

However, the experienced skipper has had a lasting impact on Cahill, and the former Aston Villa man has thanked his long-term team-mate for helping him integrate and grow at Chelsea.
“I’d probably say JT but there have been many over the years,” Cahill told the club’s official website when asked which player he’s closest to.
“Obviously I speak to the English players a lot and John’s been here all the way through with me.

“I remember him speaking to me before I even arrived at the training ground and taking his time to help me.
“I then played next to him and learnt a lot from him. Off the pitch we have a bit of banter and he’s a great guy.”
Cahill is celebrating five years at the Bridge this week since arriving from Bolton in January 2012.

And the 31-year-old is still proving to be an important figure under Conte.
While Terry has lost his place in the first XI, Cahill has been a consistent member of the team during their domestic success this season.
Another Premier League title could crown Terry’s Chelsea farewell, with Cahill expected to start in their next test at home to Hull on Sunday (4.30pm).
