Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has been linked with Chelsea

Chelsea, who have a nine-point advantage in the Premier League, were tipped to sign Morata when Diego Costa was linked with Chinese Super League outfit Tianjin Quanjian.

The 24-year-old has started just six La Liga fixtures under Zinedine Zidane this season, and is firmly behind Karim Benzema in the pecking order.

Spanish website Diario Gol claim Morata is frustrated at his lack of action at the Bernabeu.

And would like to be reunited with former manager Antonio Conte, who he worked with at Juventus.

BetStars director of trading, Ian Marmion, said: "Antonio Conte is looking to reunite himself with his former Juventus striker, Alvaro Morata.

"With doubts still lingering over Diego Costa’s future at the club, it seems Conte wants to get a successor in, in case the big man leaves.

"Chelsea attempted to sign Morata in January but a bid never materialised, with Conte stating that they will put in a bid in the summer to get Morata across to Stamford Bridge.

"We think this is very likely to happen in the summer with both parties seemingly interested, Morata to join Chelsea is odds on at 4/5."
