Ryan Giggs wanted N'Golo Kante to sign for Man United
Ryan Giggs has revealed he wanted Manchester United to sign N'Golo Kante last summer.
The 25-year-old starred for Leicester last season and his title-winning form earned him a £32million move to Chelsea in the summer.
"All I can say is that last season I hoped United would sign Kante, and in the end his buy-out clause looked very good value at £29million," Giggs told The Telegraph.
"Kante hunts the ball down.
"He is so quick to cover space, get to the ball and make the tackle.
"I have played against that kind of opponent over the years.
"They are a nightmare – you cannot shake them off."
Cesc Fabregas reckons Diego Costa is one of the best strikers in the world
Cesc Fabregas reckons Diego Costa is one of the best strikers in the world.
"Obviously you know Diego has been a very important player for Chelsea and for Atletico Madrid in the last five, six years and he’s been one of the top strikers in the world," Fabregas told Chelsea TV.
"I have a fantastic connection with him, not just only on the pitch but also off the pitch.
"I consider him my friend, he’s a great guy.
"Also, on the pitch I like to play with winners and he’s definitely one of them.
"Of course, if he is a guy that you understand so well that when you pass him the ball he scores a high percentage of your passes, then fantastic.
"We played against each other in Spain but we didn’t really know each other and I remember on our debuts actually we had our first connection and we scored a goal."
