Chelsea are desperate to land a new centre-forward to replace Diego Costa, who looks set to return to Atletico Madrid after three successful years at Stamford Bridge.
Conte informed the Spain international he was surplus to requirements last month when he thought he would sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton.
However, Lukaku has thrown a spanner into the works by opting to reunite with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United instead.
Since then, Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for Real Madrid hotshot Alvaro Morata.

Chelsea want to sign a Premier League striker
Yet the Spain international appears to be edging closer to becoming AC Milan's 10th signing of the transfer window.
The Blues are also keen on Torino's Andrea Belotti, who Conte managed during his time in charge of the Italy national team.
And Chelsea are also keeping tabs on Borussia Dortumund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
But Sky Sports claim Conte could try and sign a striker currently plying his trade in England.

In January Chelsea tried to sign Swansea ace Fernando Llorente with Conte having worked with the striker at Juventus.
Raiding domestic rivals for their prized assets has not fazed Chelsea over the years.
They famously signed Fernando Torres from Liverpool in 2011 when the Spain international was at the peak of his powers.
And Mourinho stunningly managed to lure Ashley Cole away from Arsenal on transfer deadline day 11 years ago.
